Solid:

Self-aligning, maintenance free, carbon-graphite or PTFE composite sleeve in either a nickel plated carbon steel or a stainless steel backing ring, placed in a cast iron or cast 304 stainless steel housing. All of our bearings use our proven design that maintains the self-aligning capability of the bearing by preventing oxidation of the spherical surfaces.
Usable service temperatures up to 1600 °F.

Fully Split:

Fully split, Self-aligning, maintenance free, carbon-graphite or PTFE composite sleeve in either a nickel plated carbon steel or a stainless steel backing ring, placed in a split cast 65-45-12 ductile iron housing. All of our bearings use our proven design that maintains the self-aligning capability of the bearing by preventing oxidation of the spherical surfaces.
Usable service temperatures up to 1100 °F.

All Carbon:

Self-aligning, maintenance free, carbon-graphite sleeve placed in a cast iron or cast 304 stainless steel housing. This configuration does not offer the same durability of products manufactured with a steel backing, it is used for light duty applications and is typically offered as made to order. Usable service temperatures up to 1600 °F.

Stamped Steel:

Self-aligning, maintenance free, two part, cold drawn carbon steel housing with a anti-rotation dimple and spherical all carbon sleeve or PTFE composite sleeve. On request housings can be galvanized with high temperature corrosion resistant nickel. Usable service temperatures up to 1100 °F. Used for light duty construction.

HTB Sleeve Bearing Temperature Range

HT750 Carbon-Graphite:

For a broad range of service requirements, including high to low temperature and wet applications requiring precise mechanical positioning. Rated for continuous service from -40°F to 750°F. Self-lubricating, maintenance free.

HT1000 Carbon-Graphite:

For very hot or cold applications from -200°F to 1000°F requiring precise mechanical positioning. Not for use between -40°F and 250°F. HT1000 is for extreme temperatures only. Self-lubricating, maintenance free.

NT600 PTFE Composite:

For elevated, low temperature and corrosive applications from -400°F to 500°F. Reduces motor torque and rolling resistance by 10x to 100x vs. an equivalent carbon sleeve. Excellent for conveyor systems, noise control, shock loads, vibration, and exceptionally long wear life. Self-lubricating, maintenance free.


Custom Manufacturing:

For special applications, we will produce a range of high-temperature bronze, polymer, metal alloy, and coated bearings to overcome severe environments. We have years of experience with real-world feedback from customers and can assist with optimal bearing design.

Grey Cast Iron:

The standard housing: 35 ksi grey cast iron with an enamel paint exterior finish, machined with a precise H7 spherical bearing seat. Provides reliable service for most industrial applications.

304 Cast Stainless Steel:

Manufactured with extra smooth walls that will shed contamination and resist rust, machined with a precise H7 spherical bearing seat. Provides excellent corrosion resistance and strength that will not be compromised by chipping, scratching or heating of the surface.

Split Cast Ductile Iron:

Maximum strength and durability in a split 65-45-12 ductile iron casting and a precise H7 spherical bearing seat. The split design allows for rapid exchange of the bearing without the need to reset the flange alignment. Ductile iron naturally weathers and resists further oxidation for long term service in harsh conditions.

PBT Thermoplastic:

Economical, smooth, glass reinforced PBT resin. For light duty, -10°F to 210 °F applications, where resistance to oils, fluids, and chemicals found in food processing is a priority.

Spherical Outer Race:

Mounted sleeve bearings can self-align by taking advantage of the spherical outer race during installation, this minimizes edge loading stress on the sleeve. Self-alignment should not be highly active during operation. Regular movement under a dynamic load will lead to housing wear.

Axial movement:

It is often necessary for the shaft to expand axially with high-temperature applications without restriction to prevent buckling stress and damage to connected hardware. Sleeve bearings excel in allowing the idler end of the shaft to move axially during operation with minimal friction.

Bolt location:

Mounted sleeve bearing housings have clearance in the bolt holes that allow for locating the bearing properly in the x-axis and y-axis and allow for errors in bolt location on the equipment.

Custom and Large Bores:

Any stock sleeve bearing can be custom bored to specification. Additionally, complete custom sleeve bearings of any geometry can be manufactured on request. We have foundry patterns on hand for complete bearings up to 8" and have custom processed bores up to 13".

Anti Corrosion and Wear Treatment of Steel Hardware:

Steel nitriding and sealing creates a hard ceramic case that self-lubricates and resists scuffing, micro-welding, corrosion, and particulate abrasion for all bearing surfaces. This provides a significant service life extension when poor lubrication, liquid corrosives, start/stop rotation, or high temperatures are present. This can be applied to the bearing hardware or shafting to enhance performance.
